Studium Generale
Studium Generale started in 2013 as the fifth fixed event in RICHeS' annual calendar, following the European Heritage Days, ICOMOS Day, Heritage Walks and Summer Concert. It's named after the medieval Latin word for early higher education when travelling scholars and teachers went from town to town and university to university. Studium Generale is conceived in the same fashion; it is a series of lectures by interesting and important authors, lecturers and others invited from overseas (both from abroad and from the mainland) to come to Rhodes. The selected authors and themes fit with the philosophy of RICHeS; interesting topics from Rhodes' (and Greek) fascinating history and heritage in an international context. In this way RICHeS hopes to make another valuable contribution to the cultural life of Rhodes.
